Brendon McCullum stroked a quickfire 43 from 27 balls and AB de Villiers smashed 44 from 23 balls before KKR's bowlers limited RCB to 176 for seven in their 20 overs.

It was part-time spinner Nitish Rana, who turned things around with the wicket of De Villiers and captain Virat Kohli off successive deliveries.

Kohli played a sedate innings of 31 from 33 balls before Mandeep Singh provided the boost at the end, with a quickfire 37 from 18 balls.

For KKR, Rana and Kumar picked up two wickets each.
