England 357-6 (81 ovs) vs India 107 | Scorecard

Chris Woakes hit his maiden Test century to put England firmly in control before bad light halted play, on Day 3 of the second Test at Lord's.

Woakes was unbeaten on 120, while Sam Curran made 22 not out to guide England to 357 for six in 81 overs, stretching their lead to 250 runs, before bad light play ended early.

Jonny Bairstow was unlucky to miss his century as he fell caught behind for 93, after he had put on 189 runs for the sixth wicket with Woakes.

England lost a few quick wickets in the morning session as they were reduced to 89 for four at the lunch interval.

Jos Buttler fell for 24 as England slipped to 131 for five before Woakes and Bairstow put the innings back on track with some positive batting during their sixth wicket stand.

Mohammed Shami was India's best bowler as he claimed three for 74, while Hardik Pandya took two for 66 and Ishant Sharma got one.

But the two spinners struggled with Ravichandran Ashwin giving away 68 runs in his 17 overs and Kuldeep Yadav conceding 44 runs in his nine overs.

With some rain expected on Day 4, it won't be long before England declare their innings and look to put India into bat in conditions similar to the second day.
