England 161-5 (40 ovs) vs India 107 | Scorecard

Ishant bowls a cracking bouncer to Woakes as it rises steeply and is heading for the body as the England right-hander somehow manages to fend it.

He takes one from the next ball before Bairstow chases a wide delivery and is beaten.

In the next over, Bairstow is again beaten outside the off-stump before he punches one through the covers for two runs and keeps strike with one from the last ball.

Bairstow survives a huge shout for caught behind as Ishant gets it to come back in a long way. India take the review but there is no edge and he also survives the leg before wicket as the visitors lose one of their reviews.

Bairstow gets an inside edge off Shami in the next over for two runs to square leg before he guides the third ball past point for another couple and then takes one.

The last ball is a half-volley on the stumps as Woakes clips it through midwicket for a four as England cross the 150-run mark.

Pandya comes into the attack as Woakes steers the first ball past the slips for a four and then drives the third ball for two runs through the covers.

Pandya then bowls a superb delivery to beat Woakes who flirts outside the off-stump.

Finally, Ravichandran Ashwin is called into the attack, to bowl the 39th over. Bairstow turns the first ball on the leg side for a single before Woakes defends the next few balls and picks a single off the fifth.

The ball is staying low at times as Woakes tries to drive a wide delivery from Pandya. He does it again and this time gets the edge but it falls short of the wicektkeeper.

Two singles from the over as England reach 161 for five in 40 overs, for a lead of 54 runs. Bairstow has been instrumental in keeping England going, hitting 31 from 54 balls, the only batsman to get past the 30-run mark in this match so far, while Woakes has made 18.
