England 57-2 (15 ovs) vs India 107 | Scorecard

Shami bowls a superb delivery to Root as the ball moves away enough to beat the edge before he gets a thick edge two balls later but it falls short of the gully fielder.

Root then tries to drive through the off-side as he chases a wide delivery and is beaten again.

Pope drives Ishant through the off-side for a single before he is beaten next ball. He slaps the last ball as the fielder does well in the covers to keep it down to a single.

Root pulls away at the last minute but Shami still bowls it and knocks down the middle stump and everyone breaks into a smile around the pitch.

Left-arm chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav comes into the attack. The first ball is short and goes down the leg side as Pope misses the pull but gets two byes as it goes past the wicketkeeper.

He sweeps the third ball to deep square leg for one before Root makes most of an overpitched delivery, driving it through the covers for a four.

The next ball is again short and down the leg side as Root goes for the pull but misses and it spins further down for four byes as 11 come from the spinner's first over.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya comes into the attack. A single to Pope off the third ball brings up England's 50, in the 14th over before Root drives the fifth ball through the covers for a couple.

A flighted delivery from Kuldeep as Pope tries to hit it forcefully through the off-side but is beaten before he hits a short wide delivery through the covers for a four and keeps strike with one from the last ball.
