India 260-3 (85 ovs) & 329 vs Eng 161 | Scorecard

Rashid switches to round the wicket to Kohli. The India captain defends the first couple of deliveries before pulling a short ball over midwicket for a four and then takes one on the off-side.

Rahane sweeps the last ball square on the leg side for a couple.

In the next over, Kohli cracks a cover drive off Stokes for a four to take his score to 80 followed by a single on the leg side.

Rahane shuffles across and flicks it to fine leg for one. That was risky as if he had missed it, he would have been dead in front.

A single to Rahane off Rashid before Kohli goes for the big drive off the leg-spinner but is beaten by some big turn.

Part-timer Joe Root comes into the attack, to bowl the 79th over with just one over remaining for the second new ball.

He is bowling from round the wicket as Rahane defends the first three balls before hitting a full toss through midwicket for a four.

England take the second new ball immediately after the completion of the 80th over.

James Anderson is unhappy with the new ball and asks for a change but the umpires don't budge as it was the England team, which selected the new ball in the first place.

But Anderson argues that it was not the ball that they had selected but the umpires are not relenting.

Anderson gets a lot of away movement with the shining new ball but Kohli is well set and is able to leave the first five balls before taking one from the last ball of the over.

Broad from the other end. Kohli clips the first ball on the leg side and Rahane watchfully defends the rest of the over.

Kohli continues to ignore the wide deliveries from Anderson before he gets one to pitch perfectly as the India captain pokes and is beaten. He keeps strike with another single from the last ball.

It is just singles at the moment for India against the new ball as Kohli takes another run to take his score to 85 before Rahane blocks the rest of the over from Broad.

Kohli steers Anderson past point for a couple and is beaten by the next as he flirts at a wide outswinger.
