India 223-2 (71 ovs) & 329 vs Eng 161 | Scorecard

India are content to deal in singles as Pujara and Kohli pick a single each off Woakes in the 64th over and do the same off Rashid in the next.

Kohli then punches Woakes on the up through the off-side for a couple before he is beaten off the next as he flirts with the wide outswinger.

Meanwhile, Ian Botham confirms on commentary that Jonny Bairstow has fractured his finger dealing another big blow for England.

Pujara survives a confident shout for leg before as he is beaten by the incoming delivery from Woakes. He looks to defend with bat and pad close together but the ball still sneaks through the gap but the umpire turns down the appeal for both, LBW and catch by the keeper and England also decide against the review.

Kohli picks the googly from Rashid and turns it on the leg side for a single to raise the 100-run stand for the third wicket from 270 balls. Pujara also is able to clip the leg-spinner wide of mid-on for one.

Two more singles on the leg side off the last two balls as India keep the scoreboard ticking gradually.

A single to Pujara off Woakes before Kohli clips the fourth ball through midwicket for three runs. Pujara slashes at the last ball, a wide half-volley, hitting it uppishly but it falls short of the fielder at point.

Rashid drops short as Kohli pulls it on the leg side for one before Pujara goes right back and pulls it powerfully through midwicket for a four.
