India 142-2 (40 ovs) & 329 vs Eng 161 | Scorecard

Kohli plays a nice drive through the covers, getting some good timing, for a couple off Woakes. The next two deliveries are wider and Kohli can easily watch it sail through to the keeper.

Anderson bowls a rare loose delivery, full and on the stumps, as Pujara clips it through midwicket for his first four of the day, to take his score to 40.

A bouncer from the England fast bowler as Pujara ducks under it before he pokes at the next ball, a wide outswinger, only to get beaten and he sensibly allows the last ball through to the wicketkeeper.

A close shave for Kohli as he gets a leading edge off Woakes for a boundary through the off-side. A few balls later, he plays a nice drive through the covers but is unable to find the gap before he offers no shot to the last two balls.

In the next over, Anderson finally gets the edge. Pujara (40) pokes his bat at a wide one only to get the edge but Jos Buttler at second slip dives to his left puts down the tough chance.

India continue to prosper though they have not scored freely in the morning so far, to reach 142 for two in 40 overs, with Pujara on 40 and Kohli on 19.
