Eng 220-4 (76 ovs); Target to win: 521 | Scorecard

Buttler plays another cripsy cover drive but can't beat the fielder before India decide to push the fielder back to the boundary.

Wonder why India are going on the defensive despite having more than 300 runs to defend on a pitch still doing some things.

Ashwin bowls a beauty, he gives it a lot of flight and gets some drift as Buttler looks for the cover drive but the ball turns enough to beat the bat and narrowly misses the stumps, as it clips the front pad and just bounces over the middle stump. Buttler flicks the last ball to deep midwicket for one to keep strike.

Shami comes back into the attack in place of Ishant and he will also look for reverse. The first ball is on the stumps and shapes in as Buttler flicks it through square leg for a four to take his score into the 90s.

Two balls later, Shami gets the ball to come in sharply after passing the stumps and wicketkeeper Pant also fumbles to give away a bye.

Stokes turns the last ball on the leg side for a single to keep strike and then plays out the next over from Ashwin, who nearly breaks through his defences with one that comes into the left-hander.

Shami overpitches trying for the reverse swing but Buttler clips it behind square leg for a four to take the partnership past the 150-run mark.

Shami then tries the short ball as Buttler pulls it for another four to take his score to 99.

Shami bowls it on the leg stump as Buttler clips it behind square for the third four in a row which helps him race to his maiden Test century, from from 152 balls.
