At the other end, Jasprit Bumrah is also close to getting his name in the wickets column.

Joe Root all at sea against Bumrah, who gets the ball to move both way, beating the England captain three times in the over, who is quite unsure of what to play and what to leave.

Ollie Pope gets off the mark in style as he drives Ishant straight down the ground for a four, off the first ball he faces. The next ball moves away slightly as Pope goes for the drive but is beaten before he gets a thick outside edge off the third ball for another four.

In the next over, Root is beaten yet again by Bumrah outside the off-stump. He finally gets off strike and alsogets off the mark as he clips a full delivery on the stumps to fine leg for a single.

Pope steers the next ball to point for one before Bumrah gets one to bounce extra but Root is happy to see it sail through to the keeper.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin is in the dressing room, he was struggling with his injury and might not be required to bowl if the pacers continue to bowl so well.

Root and Pope only focussed on just playing out the fast bowlers and stay out as long as possible.

England are 47 for two in 18 overs, needing another 474 runs for victory, in conditions where the fast bowlers are making merry.
