England 246-all out (76.4 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

England's No. 8 Sam Curran top-scored with 78 to steer the hosts to 246 in their first innings on Day 1 of the fourth Test match.

England were reeling at 86 for six at one stage before 20-year-old Curran led the recovery in company of Moeen Ali, who made 40, as the duo put on 81 runs for the seventh wicket.

Curran then added vital 63 runs for the ninth wicket with Stuart Broad, who contributed with 17, which helped England go past the 200-run mark.

For India, Bumrah was yet again the top performer with the ball as he claimed three for 46 in 20 overs, while fellow pacers Shami and Ishant bagged two wickets each.

Off-spinner Ashwin picked up two wickets for 40, while Pandya claimed one wicket but gave away 51 runs in his eight overs.
