Stuart Broad dismissed both the openers before India recovered to reach 100 for two at lunch on Day 2 of the fourth Test against England.

Cheteshwar Pujara was unbeaten on a solid 28, while Captain Virat Kohli stroked his way to a fluent 25 from 40 balls, hitting four fours. They still trail England by 146 runs.

Resuming on 19 for no loss, India were dealt a blow when KL Rahul was trapped leg before wicket by Broad for 19, before Shikhar Dhawan was caught behind for 23.

Kohli became the second fastest Indian to go past 6000 runs after Sunil Gavaskar when the right-hander edged Anderson for a four past the slips, in the 22nd over.

On Day 1, Sam Curran offered a spirited resistance with a resolute half-century (78) but Indian bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah, produced a disciplined effort to dismiss England for 246 on the opening day.
