Cheteshwar Pujara hit an unbeaten half-century to guide India to 181 for four at the tea interval on Day 2 of the fourth Test match at Southampton.

Rishabh Pant fell off the final delivery of the session, trapped leg before wicket by Moeen Ali for a 29-ball duck.

Pujara was unbeaten on a solid 70, having hit nine fours in his 151-ball knock.

England checked India's progress with three wickets in the post-lunch session to leave the match evenly poised after the hosts had been bowled out for 246 in their first innings.

Sam Curran got the big wicket of Virat Kohli, who was caught at first slip after scoring 46. Ajinkya Rahane made just 11 before he was trapped leg before wicket by Ben Stokes.
