Eng 211-2 (35 ovs) vs India 256-8 | Scorecard

Spin from both ends as Chahal and Kuldeep operate in tandem but they are unable to make any impression with the ball.

The boundaries have dried up temporarily but the scoreboard keeps ticking with regular flow of singles and twos.

Chahal drops short as Morgan pulls it through the leg side for a four to bring up India's 200, in the 35th over.

Chahal gets some sharp turn as Morgan comes forward to defend but is beaten and even wicketkeeper Dhoni is unable to stop it and gives away three byes.

The next ball again turns sharply as Root is beaten as he comes half forward to defend and Dhoni whips off the bails in a flash. The appeal for stumping is referred upstairs but Chahal has overstepped to give away a no-ball and a free hit.

If that was a legal delivery then Root would have been making his way back to the dressing room as his feet was outside the crease when Dhoni broke the stumps.

Root makes most of the free hit as he whips it over midwicket for a four.

England are cruising on 211 for two in 35 overs, with 46 needed from 15 overs with eight wickets in hand.
