Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma slammed quickfire half-centuries to power India to a huge 208 for five against Ireland in the first T20 International.

Dhawan smashed an entertaining 74 from 45 balls, while Rohit hammered 97 from 61 balls as the openers laid the foundation with their blazing opening stand of 160 runs from just 96 balls.

Peter Chase provided some cheer to the Irish camp with three wickets in the final over, that of Rohit, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (11) and Virat Kohli (0) but it proved to be too late in the day for the hosts.
