Kolkata Knight Riders eased past Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets to seal their place in the play-offs in Hyderabad on Saturday.

KKR cruised to 173 for five in 19.4 overs to register their third win on the trot and ensure their qualification.

Chris Lynn (55) stroked a half-century to give the visitors a perfect start as he put on 52 runs for the opening wicket with Sunil Narine, who slammed a quickfire 29 from 10 balls.

Young pacer Prasidh Krishna caused the damage with the ball for KKR as he claimed four for 30, including three wickets in a single over, to restrict Sunrisers to 172 for nine.

Shikhar Dhawan top-scored for Sunrisers with 50 from 39 balls but they lost their way at the end, as wickets fell regularly at the end.

KKR are the third team to qualify for the play-offs after Sunrisers and Chennai Super Kings.
