Kuldeep Yadav claimed his maiden five-wicket haul in Tests as India crushed a hapless West Indies in the first Test match in Rajkot on Saturday.

India bowled out West Indies for 196 in their second innings to win by a huge margin of an innings and 272 runs, their biggest win in Tests.

It was a disappointing performance from West Indies as they lasted just 98.5 overs combined in both innings with the match finishing inside three days.

Kuldeep registered career-best figures of five for 57, while Ravindra Jadeja took three for 35, while Ravichandran Ashwin got two for 71.

Earlier in the day, India had sent West Indies packing for 181 in their first innings to grab a huge lead of 468 runs. The hosts had amassed a huge 649 for nine declared after they had elected to bat with centuries from Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja.

The second Test will be played in Hyderabad from October 12 to 16.
