Pant, Rahane hit 50s; India cross 250
October 13, 2018  16:12

India 270-4 (70 ovs) vs WI 311 | Scorecard

Pant looks to swing Bishoo on the leg side but doesn't get hold and gets a single and Rahane picks one off the next.

Pant then makes room and slaps the leggie through the off-side for two runs before he takes one.

The last ball is short as Rahane pulls it through midwicket for three runs to get eight runs from the over.

The fifty must be a huge relief for Rahane, who doesn't boast of a good record at home. He looks much more solid now and more confident with his footwork.

A single to Rahane in Bishoo's next over helps the duo raise the 100-run stand for the fifth wicket as India quickly close in on the Windies total of 311.

Warrican drifts on the pads as Rahane clips the spinner through square leg for a couple.

The two spinners have not been able to make much of an impression with the old ball which is well past the 60-overs mark and has gone soft.

Bishoo flights one right up and Pant hammers it back past the bowler to the left of mid-off for a boundary followed by two singles.

India have recovered well to reach 270 for four in 70 overs, and now trail Windies by 41 runs.
