Pacer Umesh Yadav picked up three wickets to leave West Indies in a mess on Day 3 of the second Test.

Umesh took three for 32 to take his match tally to nine wickets as West Indies slipped to 76 for six in 27 overs at the tea interval, with an overall lead of just 20 runs.

Sunil Ambris battled hard for 20 from 54 balls, while Jason Holder was unbeaten on four.

West Indies were rocked early as both Kraig Brathwaite and Keiran Powell were dismissed without scoring to Umesh and Ashwin respectively.

Shimron Hetmyer gave his wicket away, attempting a reckless shot against Kuldeep and was caught at point for 17.

Shai Hope was caught at slip off Jadeja for 28, before Umesh bowled Roston Chase and Shane Dowrich with the incoming deliveries.

Earlier,
Captain Jason Holder led from the front with the ball for West Indies with a five-wicket haul to bowl out India for 367 in their first innings.

India, who resumed on 308 for four, lost their remaining six wickets for 59 runs in the morning session as West Indies made a good comeback with the ball.

Ravichandran Ashwin played an useful knock of 35 at the end to help India claim a 56-run lead.

India were struck an early blow on Day when holder dismissed the well-set Ajinkya Rahane for 80, after he had put on 152 runs for the fifth wicket with Rishabh Pant.

He dismissed Ravindra Jadeja in the same over for a duck before Rishabh Pant fell in the 90s yet again, caught in the covers off Shannon Gabriel for 92.

Holder finished with splendid figures of five for 56, while Gabriel claimed three for 107.
