Windies in trouble; Openers perish early
October 14, 2018  13:06

WI 10-2 (4 ovs) & 311 vs India 367 | Scorecard

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin to bowl from the other end in the absence of the injured Shardul Thakur.

He starts with a maiden over to Kieran Powell, who is happy to defend and not attack Ashwin early like he has done in his previous innings.

Ashwin starts off with a wicket maiden as West Indies are without a run in the first two overs, while losing a wicket.

Shai Hope finally gets the Windies off the mark as he flicks Umesh for a boundary through the leg side and then clips the next ball square for two runs.

Ashwin also claims an early wicket as Powell gets an edge and Rahane takes a good low catch slip for a duck. The decision is referred upstairs but the soft signal is out and there is no enough evidence to overturn the decision.

West Indies in early trouble as both openers perish for a duck.

It could have been worse for the visitors as Shimron Hetmyer edges the last ball but it flies wide of the slip fielder for a four.
