Eng 85-2 (35 ovs) & 332 vs India 292 | Scorecard

England's lead has crossed the 100-run mark and with eight wickets in hand they would be aiming to extend it further on the fourth day.

Cook is looking quite solid with his defence as he plays out a maiden over from Ishant.

Finally, a right-hander to bowl at for Jadeja. But he starts with a short wide delivery which Root cuts past point for a four.

Two balls later, he again drops short as Root is able to rock back and slap it through the covers for another boundary as England reach 72 for two in 30 overs.

Bumrah into the attack in place of Ishant. He starts with a full delivery on the pads as Cook clips it through midwicket for three runs to take his score to 30.

England keep the scoreboard ticking as they pick three singles off Jadeja's 11th over to continue to extend the lead.

Bumrah gets a thick outside edge off Cook but it falls in the vacant gully region as the left-hander picks a single before Root gets another run off the next ball.

Cook then plays away from his body and is beaten by the away going delivery from Bumrah before the left-hander clips the fifth ball through midwicket for two runs and then takes a single off the last delivery.

Slowly but steadily England have built up the lead during the final session as they take their score to 85 for two in 35 overs, for an overall lead of 125 runs.

Cook has shown a lot of patience in his final Test knock, to score 38, while Root has made 12.
