Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja hit half-centuries to lead India's fightback on Day 3 of the third final Test against England.

Vihari stroked 56 on his debut while Jadeja stroked an unbeaten 86 to guide India to 292 in their first innings in reply to England's 332 as the visitors ended up conceding a slender lead of 40 runs.

Virat Kohli had made 49, while KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara made 37 each.

For England, James Anderson, Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali picked up two wickets each.
