India's bowlers keep Windies in check
August 23, 2019  23:18

WI 45-1 (16 ovs) vs India 297 | Scorecard

Bumrah continues to ramp up the pressure as he bowls some sharp deliveries to Brooks. He nearly sends down the fourth maiden in a row but oversteps to concede a no-ball for the first run for West Indies in four overs.

The last ball is a cracker as it bounces steeply off length as Brooks is struck on the gloves, but the ball falls safely on the leg side.

Top stuff from Shami as he bowls on a good line and length just outside the off-stump and Brathwaite can only defend the over as the India pacer sends down his third maiden in a row.

Bumrah continues after the drinks break. Brooks clips the third ball past the fielder at mid-on and picks three runs to get off the mark.

While India's bowlers have not picked a cluster of wickets with the new ball, they have managed to keep things in check as West Indies have struggled after a quickfire start following the dismissal of Campbell.

Ishant comes back into the attack as he replaces Shami. He gets one to leave the right-hander as Brooks is committed to the poke and is beaten. The last ball is full and on the pads as Brooks clips it through midwicket for a four.
