Australia [ Images ] beat the West Indies [ Images ] by 35 runs in the third and final Test in Perth on Sunday to clinch the three-Test series 2-0.

The West Indies entered the fifth day needing 51 runs for victory, but with only the last-wicket pair Kemar Roach (17) and Gavin Tonge (23 not out) at the crease.

The duo made a determined effort and added 15 runs before Roach got an edge to one from Doug Bollinger (3-71) which Brad Haddin [ Images ] held, in the morning's fourth over.

There was some confusion as the Australians appealed but the batsman stood his ground and called for a review. Though video replays were inconclusive -- there was no sound, but the edge appeared clear -- umpire Billy Bowden, after consultation with umpire Asad Rauf, raised his finger a second time to end the West Indies' resistance.

Set a victory target of 359, the tourists closed the fourth day on 308-9. The chance for victory was set up by excellent work by their bowlers, who dismissed the home side for a meagre 150, seamer Dwayne Bravo [ Images ] taking 4-42 and left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn 3-29.

Australia won the Gabba [ Images ] Test easily and hung on to draw Adelaide.

Chris Gayle [ Images ] was named man of the match for his superb 70-ball century, his second of the series, in the first innings on the second day of the Test. He was also voted player of the series.
