Peter SiddlePeter Siddle claimed the key wicket of Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf with the second last ball of the day to leave Pakistan struggling on 109 for 4 at stumps on Day 2 of the first Test at the MCG on Sunday.

Yousuf was dismissed for 22 following a referral by Australia captain Ricky Ponting. He was caught by Brad Haddin down the leg side off the local boy but umpire Billy Doctrove originally rejected the appeal. Hot spot technology however confirmed that contact was made to the glove and the decision was overturned.

Nightwatchman Mohammad Aamer survived one delivery before stumps were called. Umar Akmal was also unbeaten on 10.

Yousuf's dismissal ended a highly-satisfying day for the hosts, who declared their first innings on 454 for 4 after overnight batsman Nathan Hauritz was dismissed for a career-high 75 after lunch.

Mitchell Johnson gave the Aussies early success, trapping Imran Farhat leg before for nine. Farhat should have departed earlier after edging the first delivery of the innings from Doug Bollinger, but the ball fell just short of second slip.

Hauritz then tasted success with the ball too when he induced Faisal Iqbal into guiding a delivery to Michael Clarke at slip.

Shane Watson trapped Salman Butt in front for 45. The batsman asked for a second opinion of the decision only to find the third umpire concur.

Australia lost just two wickets. First Mike Hussey was out leg before for 82 to spinner Saeed Ajmal. Then Hussey too was out in similar fashion despite making a deep stride down the wicket. He questioned umpire Billy Doctrove's decision but was given no comfort by the third umpire.

Hauritz then also found himself out lbw, though this time the scenario was reversed. The on field umpire rejecting the appeal but the video referral ruling him out.
