The Board of Control for Cricket in India [ Images ] said on Monday that its players must inform security officials before making their way out of the team hotel.

The Chandigarh Police was unhappy with captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni [ Images ], Harbhajan Singh [ Images ] and Yuvraj Singh [ Images ] leaving the team hotel without informing them. They said they would prepare a report on the security violation by the aforesaid players and send it to the BCCI.

"Player security is our utmost priority. Therefore, I think it is important for the players to inform the security officials before they plan to leave the team hotel," BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla said in Mohali.

Chandigarh's Superintendent of Police (Security) H S Doon said it was agreed beforehand that any player wanting to go out has to inform the officials three hours in advance and take a policeman along with him.

"First Yuvraj left, and when we told him to take a security official with him he outrightly refused. Then captain M S Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh also left their hotel without informing," added an unhappy Doon.
