Trinidad & Tobago skipper Darren Ganga lauded Keiron Pollard for his scintillating batting display and said the Caribbean team is full with talents like him who are hungry to perform on the big stage.
Pollard's sensational 18-ball 54-run knock fashioned Trinidad & Tobago's four-wicket win over New South Wales Blues in a League A match today and inched them one step closer towards the semi-final spot in the inaugural Champions League T20.
The Trinidad & Tobago captain dedicated the sensational victory to the natives of West Indies.
"I can't find a word to describe him (Pollard). He was brilliant; he came good today but I tell you he is not the only one who will come good. We have lot of talented players in the team who are hungry to perform," a jubilant Ganga said after the match.
"I think probably there will be a carnival out in Trinidad and Tobago now. West Indies this victory is for you.
"We strongly believe we have got the talent, we have got the ability to accomplish any task," he said.
He also praised his bowlers for restricting NSW to 170, especially after the 121 opening wicket stand between Philip Hughes and David Warner.
"It was a great effort by the bowlers to restrict NSW to 170 especially after the start they got. We pulled back things well. We always believed that we have a chance because we have the players to do so.
"We were not under any pressure. We knew that we have the players to chase down the 170 target," Ganga said.
Meanwhile, his counterpart Simon Katich said he was not at all astonished by the lesser-known Caribbean side's performance.
"It was a fantastic effort at the end. Trinidad played some great cricket tonight.
"We were not surprise by Trinidad. We have seen their matches and always knew they are going to be a tough opponent," Katich said.
Man-of-the-match Pollard said he would put up similar performances in the remaining matches of the cash-rich tournament.
"Yeah I m delighted with the performance. When I went out to bat, the team was in a crucial position. We were in a trouble and needed someone and the good thing is that I came off.
"Hopefully, we can continue this form and do better in the tournament. My timing was great today. It came off tonight and hopefully it will come good in the next matches," he said.
