In an apparent attack on his detractors, IPL commissioner Lalit Modi said all decisions regarding the league in all its three editions were taken by the Governing Council and approved by the General Body.
Against the backdrop of allegations of financial wrong-doings in the IPL, he also said the IPL is "clean and transparent".
"In the last few days, we have had a lot of innuendoes, and half truths and motivated leaks (about IPL). I want to tell you that all decisions have been taken by the Governing Council and approved by the general body.
"I reassure you that if there is any flouting of rules and any irregularities I shall take full responsibility. On this occasion, I assure millions of passionate fans of the league and the game across the globe that the IPL is clean and transparent.
"We should not allow this brand to be diluted and we will not," he said in his speech at the end of the final which saw Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 22 runs, even as reports trickled in that he could be suspended by the BCCI any time.
