Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara is happy to make a winning start to the cricket tri-series after beating Bangladesh but a hamstring injury to their star performer Tillakaratne Dilshan has the left him worried.

Kumar SangakkaraThe Lankans are grappling with a spate of injuries to key players and now run the risk of losing Dilshan, who scripted Lanka's convincing seven-wicket by smashing a brilliant 104.

"He did not look too great out there and we are keeping fingers crossed hoping that he will be fit enough to play at some point in the tournament," Sangakkara said after the match at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium on Monday.

"It is a magnificent start to the new year. Everyone is keen to do well but at the same we have lot of injuries. Anything more than this (Dilshan's injury) we might not be able to field the team," he said.

The Lankan captain said dew factor played a big role in deciding the outcome of the match as Bangladesh were in a disadvantageous position while bowling second.

"I have never seen dew like this. It was great toss to win in the hindsight. But 260 was a bit too much. We missed a few run out and a couple of bad overs allowed them to make that total.

"But I would not want to field in these conditions and my bowlers would not like to bowl. The difference is day and night and these were not great conditions for the Bangladeshis to compete," Sangakkara felt.

Sangakkara suggested that an early start to the match would be ideal under the given conditions.

"Because of the dew factor we chose to field first. So I think starting at 11 in the morning and finishing before 6.45 would be good," he opined.

Losing skipper Shakib-ul-Hasan also blamed the defeat on poor bowling conditions.

"We batted really well. We thought dew would come in the last hour or so but it started falling at 6. It was really hard to bowl on this wicket," Hasan lamented.

"We have four spinners in the side and it was tough for them. It was almost unfit playing conditions. The toss has become crucial but we can't control it," he added.

The host skipper was satisfied with the batting effort.

"We batted well though the middle-order did not click. It was a good team effort and I believe we are going the right way," he said.
