Statistical highlights of the second day of the second Test between Bangladesh and India in Mirpur on Monday.

# On the second day of the Test, India have made 390 runs - their highest score in a day's play against Bangladesh, obliterating the 348 for 7 on the second day of the 2004-05 Dhaka Test.

# Only South Africa have posted more runs in a day's play than India's aforesaid score - 405 without losing any wicket on the first day of the 2007-08 Chittagong Test.

# Gautam Gambhir's aggregate of 207 at an average of 69.00, including one century and one fifty is the second best in the present series after Tendulkar - 264 (avg 132.00).

# With his fifty, Gambhir has emulated Vivian Richards's feat of registering fifty-plus scores in eleven Tests.

# Gambhir's sequence of fifty-plus scores in eleven Tests in a row commenced against Australia at Mohali in October 2008, scoring 67 and 104, while Viv Richards had recorded the feat against Australia, India, England and Pakistan between 1976 and 1977.

# Gambhir enjoys an outstanding record against Bangladesh - 381 at an average of 76.20, including two centuries and one fifty, in four Tests.

# During the course of his 143 off 182 balls, Sachin Tendulkar has completed his 800 runs against Bangladesh - 820 (avg 136.66). He is the third player to register the feat, joining two Sri Lankans, Kumar Sangakkara - 876 (avg 73.00) in 11 Tests and Mahela Jayawardene - 860 (avg 66.15) in 11 Tests.

# The 103-run opening partnership between Gambhir and Sehwag is their seventh for this wicket-position - a tally bettered for India only by Gavaskar-Chauhan pair (10).

# Tendulkar and Dravid, with their 222-run stand, have set a record for sharing in most stands (17) of 100 or more for various wicket-positions. They have obliterated the 16 such stands by two pairs - Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting for Australia (all for the second wicket) and Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes for West Indies (all for the opening wicket).

# Of the 17 partnerships of 100 or more by Tendulkar and Dravid, 15 have been recorded for the third wicket, extending their world record.

# Dravid and Tendulkar (222) have set a partnership record for the third-wicket for India against Bangladesh, surpassing the 61 between the same pair at Chittagong in December 2004.

# With the 222-run stand, Sachin has equalled Ricky Ponting's record of sharing 15 partnerships of 200 or more in Tests.

# The aforesaid partnership is the best for any wicket at Mirpur, beating the 175 (unbroken) for the first wicket between Wasim Jaffer and Dinesh Karthik for India in May 2007.

# Dravid has extended his world record for sharing in most stands of 100 or more to 81. Ricky Ponting is second with 78 followed by Tendulkar (73).

# Rahul Dravid's third century against Bangladesh is his 29th overall. His 111 (retired hurt) off 188 balls is his 17th century away from home in Tests.

# Dravid's run-aggregate of 560 (avg 70.00) in seven Tests against Bangladesh is exceeded only by Sachin Tendulkar - 820 (avg 136.66) in seven Tests for India.

# Sachin Tendulkar (143 off 182 balls) is the first player to make 45 Test centuries. He has recorded 45 hundreds each in Tests as well as ODIs - both are records.

# Tendulkar has extended his record for most Test hundreds away from home to 26.

# With his aforesaid hundred, Tendulkar became the first batsman to register 90 international hundreds.

# Sachin now holds a record for making most hundreds (five) against Bangladesh. His tally includes four hundreds in four successive Tests against Bangladesh - the first player to do so against Bangladesh.

# Sehwag's 56 off 63 balls is his highest knock against Bangladesh - his previous best being the 52 at Chittagong in the first Test of the 2009-10 rubber. He has recorded 21 Test fifties.
