Rohit Sharma has been docked 15 per cent of his match fee for showing dissent during India's 14-run defeat to the West Indies in their Twenty20 World Cup Super Eight Group F match in Bridgetown.
The middle order batsman had stood his ground, indicating to umpire Billy Bowden that the ball had gone off his arm en route to wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin off Kieron Pollard during the Sunday's match.
Sharma was also seen gesturing to Bowden, asking him to refer it to the third umpire.
Though Bowden was unsure of the legitimacy of the catch, he had consulted leg-umpire Simon Tauffel before ruling Sharma out.
