Ind 172-3 (69 ovs) vs Australia 326 (108.3 ovs) Scorecard

It's been a good day for India as they ended with 172 for 3 at stumps on Day 2 of the 2nd Test in Perth on Saturday.

Captain Virat Kohli and his deputy Ajinkya Rahane stitched up a crucial 74-run partnership as they rallied in the 3rd session.

Earlier in the day, India lost openers Vijay and KL Rahul cheaply before Pujara and Kohli put on a fight. Pujara fell just after tea but not before making 24 to help steady India's ship.

Australia bowlers put in the works, bowling tirelessly but did not find much success.

Last over of Day 2 and Cummins continues.

Kohli gets an outside edge and falls short of the fielder at slips.

Straight and full and Kohli plays it off his pads for 3 to square leg.

Rahane then does well to evade the bouncer.

Dot to end the over and that is stumps on Day 2.

Lyon continues and Finch is fielding at bat-pad. Rahane does well to see off the over.

Cummins comes back into the attack and he bowls beautifully.

Last ball of the over he strays and Kohli gets a boundary to fine leg.

Lyon continues and Kohli starts the over with a single.

Rahane then brings up his 50 with a single to covers -- his 17th Test fifty that.

Kohli then gets a single to the on side.

Rahane then plays out three dots as three come off the over.

Hazlewood brought back into the attack.

After a drive for no run off the first ball, next ball he drives the ball straight down the ground for a four.

Next ball is short and Rahane cuts it over backward point for another boundary.

Rahane then takes a quick single to get to 49.

Shot! Kohli plays a superb drive through covers for a three. Lovely over that for India.

Cummins continues and after 3 dots, Rahane gets a single off a miscued pull to square leg.

Kohli easily sits under the bouncer before leaving the last ball of  the over as just one comes off the over.
