India 203-6 (68.5 ovs) vs WI | Scorecard

Rain brought an early end to proceedings on Day 1 of the first Test, with India struggling on 203 for six at stumps on the opening day, in Antigua.

Rishabh Pant (20) and Ravindra Jadeja (3) were the two unbeaten batsmen at end of play on Day 1.

Earlier, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane hit a solid 81 to rally India after a few early wickets, after they were put into bat.

Rahane, who hit 10 fours in his 163-ball knock, put on 68 runs for the fourth wicket with KL Rahul (44) to steady the visitors after a horror start.

Kemar Roach took two wickets in a single over -- that of Mayank Agarwal (5) and Cheteshwar Pujara (2) -- to rock India early.

They found themselves in further mess as captain Virat Kohli was caught in the gully off Shannon Gabriel after scoring just nine as India slipped to 25 for three.

Rahane then led the recovery in the company of Rahul, before the latter was caught down the leg side off Roston Chase.

Rahane also put on 82 runs for the fifth wicket with Hanuma Vihari (32), who also failed to carry on after getting off to a start as he was caught behind off Roach.

Gabriel dented India further with the vital scalp of Rahane, who was bowled off an inside edge.

There were quite a few rain interruptions during Day 1 as only 68.5 overs were bowled during the day.
