Dhawan looks to pull a short ball from Boult but ends up missing it completely, he has looked quite shaky in this innings.

Boult then foxes with the slower ball which dips quite a bit as Dhawan goes for the flick but is beaten and hit on the pads as he takes a leg bye.

Rohit continues to be watchful as India reach 12 for no loss in five overs.

Dhawan edges Southee to thirdman for one to bring up his 5000 runs in ODIs. Rohit then breaks the shackles as he comes down the track and hits the pacer straight back past mid-on for a four.

Rohit miscues the pull shot on the leg side for one and Dhawan flicks the next off his pads through square leg for a four.

Dhawan then takes another run before Rohit pulls the last ball but fails to make proper connection for runs to deep midwicket.

Dhawan slowly getting his timing back. Southee overpitches as Dhawan slaps him straight down the ground for his third four.

Three balls later, he slashes a wide short delivery past point for another boundary and picks two runs off the last ball through midwicket.

Lockie Ferguson comes into the attack as he replaces Boult. Rohit picks a single before Dhawan steers the last ball for a four past point.

The players head back into the dressing room for the dinner break with India sitting pretty on 41 for no loss in nine overs, needing another 117 runs for victory in 41 overs.
