Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has won the toss and elected to bowl against India in the 22nd match of the ICC World Cup at Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday.

India have made one change to their team as all-rounder Vijay Shankar replaces the injured Shikhar Dhawan.

India's bowling is quite formidable as Australia and South Africa found out earlier in the tournament. Jasprit Bumrah has been in red hot form in the last few years, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar also getting into the groove in the previous match against Australia, while all-rounders Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar and Kedar Jadhav can be handful with the ball.

Just like India, Pakistan have also gone in with two spinners in Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim, along with a strong pace attack in Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz.

14:24   Confident India set for Pakistan clash

Welcome to the coverage of the most hotly-anticipated World Cup match between India and Pakistan in Manchester on Sunday.

Pakistan are the undoubted underdogs, having never beaten India at a World Cup, not even when they won the title in 1992.

Under Virat Kohli, India have made a strong start to their quest for a third World Cup title, with a clinical victory against holders Australia. Sarfaraz's men need a pickup after slumping to a second defeat in four matches against Australia.

Conditions and length of the match will dictate the team combination, says India captain Kohli as the fickle Manchester weather is likely to affect the match.

While Kohli did not spell out the changes, there is a strong possibility that Dinesh Karthik will be preferred over Vijay Shankar if it's a less than 35 overs game per side.

Since Pakistan batsmen are capable of handling spin and three left-handers are likely to feature in their top-order (Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul Haq and Haris Sohail for Asif Ali), Kuldeep Yadav may make way for Mohammed Shami in overcast conditions.

However Kohli is not entirely against the idea of fielding two spinners although Yuzvendra Chahal is a sure-shot entry. Ravindra Jadeja's restrictive bowling can also be a good option.
