Spin for the first time on Day 2 as left-arm spinner George Linde is called back into the attack. Rohit taps the third ball to mid-on for a single to complete his 150 from 199 balls before Rahane defends the rest of the over.

India are comfortably placed on 274 for three in 70 overs, as they look set for another huge first innings total.

Spin from both ends as Dane Piedt comes into the attack from the other end. Rohit and Rahane pick a single each from the first two balls before the former is beaten by one which goes straight on as he plays for the turn.

Rohit then brings out the reverse sweep against Piedt bowling from round the wicket, steering it fine on the off-side for a four and then punches the last ball through the covers for one.

In the next over, Rohit drives an overpitched wide delivery from Linde through the covers for two runs and then takes one to long-on before Rahane defends the rest of the over.

At the drinks break, India have reached 284 for three in 72 overs, with Rohit on 159 and Rahane on 101.

The duo have so far put on 245 runs from 340 balls for the fourth wicket to put India on top.

The hosts have scored 60 runs from 14 overs bowled in the morning session as South Africa's bowlers struggled to make an impression.
