SA 132-8 (46 ovs) f/o & 162 vs India 497-9 | Scorecard

South Africa finish the third day on 132 for eight in 46 overs in their first innings after being asked to follow on. They still need another 203 runs to avoid the follow-on after they folded for 162 in their first innings in reply to India's 497 for nine declared.

Concussion substitute Theunis de Bruyn stroked his way to 30 from 42 balls, while Norjte was unbeaten on five as they managed to push the match into Day 4.

It was a nightmarish batting performance from South Africa as they lost 16 wickets in the day.

India's pacers Mohammed Shami (3/10) and Umesh Yadav (2/35) again wreaked havoc with the new ball, reducing South Africa to 22 for four in the ninth over.

Dean Elgar suffered a painful blow on the helmet by a bouncer from Umesh and was ruled out of the match. He was replaced by Theunis de Bruyn as per the concussion substitution rules.
