SA 26-4 (9.3 ovs) f/o & 162 vs India 497-9 | Scorecard

A tentative Elgar pokes away from his body as he edges Umesh past the gully fielder for a four and then defends a short ball with caution.

Umesh then strikes Elgar on the helmet with a quick bouncer as the left-hander takes his eyes off the ball trying to duck and sustains a blow on the side of the helmet.

He is down as all the Indian players check on him before the South African physio rushes out to the middle.

The umpires call for an early tea as South Africa are struggling on 26 for four in 9.3 overs, after they were asked to follow-on. They still need another 309 runs to avoid the innings defeat.

The Indian fast bowlers were once again lethal with the new ball. Shami was brilliant with the new ball, taking 3/7 in five overs, while Umesh bowled a fiery spell to take 1/18.
