India 104-5 (24 ovs) vs NZ 273-8 | Scorecard

The ploy to bring back Southee has worked for the Kiwis. He cripples India further with the wicket of Jadhav, who is caught in the covers for nine.

The last ball is slanted across left-hander Ravindra Jadeja, who offers no shot.

India reeling on 96 for five in 21 overs, with Iyer unbeaten on 38.

Iyer will continue to bat positively despite the fall of wickets from the other end. He lofts a length ball from de Grandhomme over midwicket for a four and then takes a single to midwicket off the fifth ball as India go past the 100-run mark, in the 22nd over.

Southee continues as Iyer clips the second ball to fine leg for one and Jadeja is beaten outside the off-stump as he plays away from his body as he plays out the last four balls.

Pacer Bennett is back into the attack. Iyer takes a quick single on the off-side as Guptill swoops in quickly from short thirdman but misses the direct hit with Jadeja struggling to make his crease.

Jadeja then plays out three dot balls in a row as he can't find the gap through the off-side before he looks to cut a short wide delivery but is beaten.

He slaps the last ball past point but for just a single to thirdman as India reach 104 for five in 24 overs.
