Pacer Deepak Chahar opens the bowling for CSK, while Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock are the two openers for Mumbai Indians.

The first ball is pitched up and slightly wide as Rohit, batting after a long gap of six months, shows no rustiness as he flays it through the covers for a four to get the IPL going in majestic style. He then clips the next off his pads to midwicket for a single.

Quinton de Kock drives the third ball straight as Murali Vijay at mid-on dives over the ball, to concede a couple of runs.

Chahar then bowls a half-volley on the stumps as de Kock clips it through midwicket for a four as Mumbai make a flying start. He keeps strike with a single off the last ball as 12 runs come from the first over.

Left-arm pacer Sam Curran to bowl the second over.

The first ball is pitched up and comes in as de Kock misses the flick through the leg side. He then makes some room and tries to smash it through the off-side but doesn't time it well as it he hits it to the fielder at mid-off.

De Kock then carves the third ball to thirdman for a single.

A wide half-volley from Curran as Rohit reaches out for it and guides it past point for a four and then takes a single on the off-side and de Kock takes one off the last ball, as Mumbai race to 19 for no loss in two overs.
