India 4-0 (2 ovs) & 217 vs NZ 249 | Scorecard

India's openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will be looking to replicate their efforts of the first innings by playing out the new ball and build a solid platform for the middle order.

Tim Southee opens the bowling for New Zealand. Rohit offers no shot to the first ball before he gets the next off the outside half of the bat past gully for three runs to get off the mark.

Gill also gets the next ball off the outside half of the bat but it goes to the fielder in the gully.

The next few balls are left alone as Southee gets it to swing away from the right-hander. The last ball jags in sharply as Gill offers no shot and it goes over the stumps.

Left-arm pacer Trent Boult from the other end. Rohit taps the first ball to square leg for a single and Gill blocks the next with caution.

The next three balls are left alone as Boult slides it across the right-hander to end the second over.
