India 276-7 (88 ovs) vs Eng 205 | Scorecard

Root continues as Axar pulls a short ball through midwicket for a four to continue the flow of runs.

The new ball hasn't gone to plans for England with India building their lead at a good rate.

Since the second new ball was taken, India have smashed 45 runs from the last six overs, hitting eight fours and a six while losing one wicket.

Sundar ensures the momentum continues as he slaps a wide delivery from Stokes through the covers for a four to inch closer to his fifty.

The left-hander steers the next ball past gully for a couple to bring up his fifty from 96 balls as he once proves his utility with the bat lower down the order.

Sundar continues his consistent run with the bat in Tests, registering his third fifty in six innings, which also includes two ducks. He currently averages 55 in Tests, with 220 runs from four matches.

Stokes again bowls wide as Sundar cuts it this time to deep point for one and Axar keeps strike with one from the last ball.

Leach comes back into the attack and Axar does well to play out a maiden over, not trying anything rash against England's best spinner.
