Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell are the two openers for New Zealand, while Shaheen Afridi will open the bowling for Pakistan.

Guptill defends the first ball back to the bowler and offers no shot to the next. He looks to hit the third ball but can't make proper connection and defends the fourth ball on the off-side before he keeps out the yorker.

The last ball moves away as Guptill pokes and is beaten as Afridi starts with a maiden over.

Left-arm spinner Imad Wasim from the other end. Mitchell flicks the second ball through midwicket for a single to get New Zealand off the mark.

Guptill gets off the mark with a quick single on the off-side before followed by another single to his partner.

Guptill cuts the last ball behind point to end the over with a boundary.
