India 53-2 (20.1 ovs) vs England | Scorecard

The umpires have called for lunch as India go into the break on 53/2 in 20.1 overs.

India lost both their openers in the morning session. Shubman Gill looked to play a few shots against the new ball despite the early movement. He stroked a fluent 17 before he was caught at second slip off James Anderson in the seventh over.

Pujara, asked to open the innings in place of the absent Rohit Sharma, battled hard for his 13 from 46 balls before Anderson produced a beauty to have him caught by Crawley in the slips.

Vihari, unbeaten on 14, got a lifeline when Crawley put him down on Matthew Potts.

Earlier, England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and elected to bowl against India in the rescheduled fifth Test.

With skipper Rohit Sharma ruled out after testing positive for COVID-19, Jasprit Bumrah became India's 36th Test captain. Ravichandran Ashwin was left out as Ravindra Jadeja bagged the lone spinner's slot, while Shardul Thakur got the nod in a four-man pace attack.
