DC 36-2 (4 Ovs) vs GT | Scorecard

Azmatullah continues, looking to apply pressure on the batsmen. Jake manages just a single off a shorter delivery, rotating the strike to keep the momentum going. However, Shaw capitalizes on a bouncer, sending it racing to the boundary for four runs, much to the delight of the DC fans.

Displaying a disciplined line, Azmatullah prevents any further scoring opportunities, frustrating the batsmen with his accuracy. Shaw, undeterred, expertly clips the next delivery for a single, showcasing his ability to find gaps in the field.

Azmatullah delivers an outstanding yorker, denying Jake any chance of scoring as he defends diligently. But just as the over seems to be winding down, Shaw pulls off a breathtaking stroke, effortlessly chipping the ball over mid-wicket for a sensational six, adding valuable runs to the scoreboard.

With 12 runs amassed from Azmatullah's over, DC's total reaches 34-0 after three overs, maintaining their strong start. Warrier takes up the attack, and Shaw manages to pick up a single off his bowling.

However, the jubilation is short-lived as disaster strikes for DC. Jake, aiming for another big shot, mistimes his stroke and sends the ball soaring into the hands of Noor Ahmad at deep backward square leg. It's a significant blow as Jake departs for a brisk 23 off just 14 balls, leaving DC to regroup after the loss of their dangerous opener.

Axar Patel strides to the crease, promoted to the crucial No. 3 position, aiming to stabilise the innings for DC. He starts cautiously, pushing the first delivery to mid-off for no run, assessing the conditions.

Axar gets off the mark with a well-judged single off the next delivery, nudging it towards mid-off and scampering through for a quick run.

However, the joy is short-lived as Noor Ahmad springs into action once again, stationed at deep backward square leg. He charges forward and executes a brilliant low catch, the ball seemingly dying on its way to him. The on-field umpire refers the decision to the third umpire to confirm the legitimacy of the catch.

After a thorough review, with Noor's fingers shown to be cleanly under the ball, the catch is deemed legitimate, much to the dismay of Shaw and DC.

Shaw departs after a brief cameo, contributing 11 runs off 7 balls, as DC suffer the double blow of losing both their openers in quick succession.

Shai Hope is the new batter, he defends the last off the over.
