Karthik comes down again but this time he is beaten and wicketkeeper Uthappa completes an easy stumping.

Karthik walks back after an entertaining innings of 51 from 29 balls, having hit eight fours and a six.

Jadeja defends the first two balls before he gets a single from the last ball to retain strike.

The left-hander turns Chawla through the leg side for two runs to level scores. However, he causes the run out of Finch, who walks back visibly angry. Jadeja hit it straight to midwicket as Finch set off for a single but was turned back quite late and no wonder he was annoyed with his partner.

Gujarat 151-3 (16 ovs) vs Kolkata 158-4 | Scorecard

This is turning out to be a cracking innings from Karthik. He continues in his merry way as he pulls a short ball from Russell through square leg for a four.

Karthik's positive knock has given Raina a lot of breathing space and he is merely content to play the singles and rotate the strike.

Karthik attempts another pull shot as it goes off the gloves but wicketkeeper Uthappa can't hold on to the catch despite the dive.

The short ball tactic finally works against Raina. The left-hander finally loses patience as he top edges the pull shot but ends up hitting it straight into the hands of Hogg at fine leg to fall for 14.

No stopping Karthik though as he upper cuts the last ball of the over over point for a four.

Despite their captain's dismissal Gujarat look comfortable as they reach 120 for three in 14 overs, needing 39 from six overs for victory.

The dangerous duo of Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum walk out to open the batting for Gujarat Lions. KKR have Andre Russell to bowl the first over.

The first ball is right in the slot, just outside the off-stump and moving away enough as Russell manages to beat his West Indian team mate Smith. The next ball is straighter as Russell turns it square for a single.

Brendon McCullum comes down the track and has a wild swing but is beaten as all the KKR players go up in appeal but the umpire is unmoved.

A good first over from Russell, conceding just a single and coming close to a wicket.

Interestingly, the ultra edge has picked up something as the ball passed McCullum's bat in the first over. Has he got away with one here?

Morne Morkel to bowl the second over. He starts with a short ball which Smith pulls through midwicket for a four followed by one.

Morkel again drops short as McCullum cuts it powerfull over the off-side for another four before having another wild swing over the leg side but fails to make connection.

There is a set plan by the two KKR batsmen and one of them is attack Bravo early on in his over. Shakib once again goes after the first ball from Bravo, this time crashing it over midwicket for a six. The next ball is again a length ball as Shakib this time lofts it straight back over the bowler's head for a cracking six.

The Gujarat captain dived to his left and plucked it out of mid air just when the ball looked to have passed him as Yadav looked to ramp it over the keeper and slips. Dhawan has been content to play it steadily, scoring 44 from 39 balls, while Yuvraj is getting his eye in on five from seven balls.
