Kuldeep claimed career-best figures of five for 24 in four overs, including three wickets in a single over, to lead India's superb fightback after Jason Roy and Jos Buttler had given England a quickfire start.

Buttler, who stroked 69 from 46 balls, put on 50 runs from just five overs for the opening wicket with Roy, who slammed 30 from 20 balls.

Kuldeep sent England tumbling in the middle overs as England lost eight wickets for 64 runs in the last nine overs.

Umesh to bowl the penultimate over. He starts with a wide yorker which Willey misses before he digs out the next for a single on the off-side.

Umesh dismisses Chris Jordan first ball who inside edges a low full toss on to his pads and is caught by the bowler on his follow through.

Liam Plunkett picks a single in the covers to get off the mark before Willey plays and misses outside the off-stump, who then takes one from the last ball.

A good outing with the ball for Umesh as he finishes with two for 21 in four overs.

After going for runs in his previous over, Bhuvneshwar makes a good comeback as he concedes just eight runs in the final over with England finishing on 159 for eight in their 20 overs.

England 148-7 (18 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

What a sensational collapse by England's batting line-up. At one stage, they were comfortably placed on 95 for one in 11 overs, but since then courtesy of Kuldeep's wonderful bowling, they have lost five wickets for 22 runs in the space of five overs.

Bhuvneshwar comes back and he starts his spell with a loose delivery, short and down the leg side, as David Willey pulls it over the fine leg region for a six.

Willey has two T20 centuries for his county and he shows some class with the bat as he punches Bhuvneshwar through the covers for a four.

Willey flicks the next ball straight to Chahal at short fine leg who is slow to get down and gifts England a boundary.

Bhuvneshwar has lost his radar as he bowls two successive wides down the leg side.

Willey clips the last ball on the leg side and sprints across for a couple as  Bhuvneshwar concedes 20 runs in his third over.

Kuldeep to bowl the 18th over. Buttler clips the first ball to square leg for two runs.

Buttler, on 69 from 44 balls, looks to loft the next ball down the ground but doesn't make proper connection as KL Rahul running back from the covers puts down the catch.

But two balls later, Kuldeep gets his man, his fifth wicket of the innings, as Buttler attempts another big hit and this time Kohli completes the catch at long-on.

Buttler walks back after a cracking innings of 69 from 46 balls, having hit eight fours and two sixes.

Willey sweeps the next ball over the square leg fence for a six before keeping strike with one from the last ball.

Those three wickets in a single over by Kuldeep seems to have affected Buttler, who will look to build a partnership before going on the attack at the end.

Pandya comes back as Moeen Ali turns the second ball through square leg for a four. But Pandya gets revenge two balls later as Moeen looks to loft it over the off-side but fails to make proper connection and is caught in the covers for six.

A single each to Morgan and Buttler followed by a wide before the former plays the sweep as the short fine fielder half stops it to give away two runs.

Just six runs from the over as Chahal finishes with 34 runs from his four overs.

Kuldeep strikes again, this time with the key wicket of Morgan, who goes for the slog sweep but is caught at midwicket for seven as Kohli takes the catch to dismiss his counterpart.

Two balls later he gets the wicket of Jonny Bairstow, who is stumped off the first ball he faces for a duck. And Joe Root perishes in the same fashion as he is also foxed all ends by the googly and is stumped for a first ball-duck.

Three wickets for Kuldeep in the over, he has wonderful figures of four for 13 in three overs to leave England in trouble on 109 for five in 14 overs.

England 100-2 (12 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

Kuldeep is rewarded for some fine bowling with the wicket of the struggling Hales.

The England right-hander managed just eight from 18 balls before he shuffled across and went for the sweep but missed and was bowled.

Eoin Morgan wastes no time in getting after Kuldeep as he paddle sweeps the first ball he faces for three runs fine on the leg side and Buttler picks two runs off the last ball of the over.

England are on course for a 175-plus total as they reach 100 for two in 12 overs.

Buttler clips the first ball to square leg for two runs followed by a single.

Alex Hales is hit on the body by a quick short ball from Pandya as he tries to turn it on the leg side but misses. The next ball is short but bounces a bit more as Hales tries the pull shot but is beaten again followed by two more dot balls.

A tidy start with the ball by Pandya as he gives away just three runs in his first over with England reaching 53 for one in six overs.

Chahal comes back at the end of the Powerplay, to bowl the seventh over. He does well to concede just six runs in his second over with India keen to pull back things after England's fiery start.

Pandya nearly bowls another good over till he spoils it with a poor last ball. He gifts Buttler a full toss on the pads which he clips through the leg side for a four to get seven runs from the over.

In the next over, Buttler reverse sweeps Chahal for a four to help England maintain the momentum.

Spin from both ends as left-armer Kuldeep Yadav comes into the attack. The first ball is a half volley on the stumps as Buttler whips it through midwicket for a four.

But Kuldeep makes a good comeback with four dot balls in a row to Buttler to halt his charge.

Buttler manages a single off the last ball as five runs come from Kuldeep's first over.

After 10 overs, England have reached 77 for one with Buttler hitting 42 from 27 balls, while Hales is on five from 13 balls.

Umesh attempts a slower ball which Buttler lofts over mid-on for a four.

Two balls later, Buttler goes after the short ball and gets a top edge but Chahal on the fine leg boundary is unable to judge it cleanly and wastes a good opportunity to make the breakthrough.

But Umesh strikes with the very next delivery as Roy goes for the pull but only manages to drag it back on to his stumps to be dismissed for 30 from 20 balls.
22:18   England off to a quickfire start

He then lofts a full delivery wide of long-on for two runs and then steers the fourth ball over short thirdman for a four.

Roy punches the fifth ball wide of mid-on for another two runs. All or nothing approach by Roy as he has another wild swing but is beaten by Bhuvi.

India introduce spin early as Yuzvendra Chahal comes in to bowl the fourth over. Buttler defends the first ball watchfully before he tucks the next on the leg side for a single.

Roy not holding back though as he reverse sweeps a full toss over point for a four before he taps the next to midwicket for one.

Buttler then chips down the track and lofts Chahal straight down the ground for a six.

21:21   India will be tougher test for England than Australia: Kohli
India captain Virat Kohli feels his team will be a tougher prospect for England than Australia, promising they will play "fearless cricket" on their coming tour.

India will take on England in three Twenty20 internationals and three one-day internationals, with the hosts high on confidence after a 5-0 ODI series victory over Australia at home.

Kohli, 29, added that the team would look to replicate the mindset that led to their success in the limited-overs leg on their tour of South Africa, after losing the Test series 2-1.

"The takeaway from this tour obviously will be the way we play our cricket and the mindset and the attitude that we maintain for the length of the tour that we are here.

"No one can guarantee results, but just wanting to win every session and every ball that we play, if we can carry that on for the length of the tour, I will be really proud as a captain and we will be really proud of ourselves as a team."

Kohli also had one eye on next year's 50-over World Cup in England and Wales, with India keen to try different options in the middle order.

"Looking at the World Cup, we will try a lot of players in the shorter formats," Kohli said.

"The middle order in the ODIs has been something that we have been looking for, so we have a few things that we want to try out and address there as well."

21:06   Upbeat India face tough task against in-form England
Their supremacy in shorter formats is redoubtable but India will have their task cut out against a vastly improved England in the opening T20 International in what will be a defining summer for Virat Kohli and his team.

While India has been a consistent limited overs side during the past decade, England have finally found their mojo in ODIs and T20s, courtesy a group of fantastic limited overs players like Jos Buttler, Jason Roy and Ben Stokes.

With the 2019 ODI World Cup less than 12 months away, there is more than bragging rights at stake as both sides look to fine-tune preparations against an opposition of note.

India are coming into the series with two facile victories over Ireland -- by 72 and 143 runs respectively but Kohli knows too well that England will be a different proposition.

What will give him confidence though is the fact that India have won 15 of their last 20 T20 Internationals including the Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka and the bilateral away series against South Africa.

England are coming into series on the back of 6-0 drubbing of Australia with Buttler, Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow in fantastic form.
