Australia completes series whitewash against Pakistan

Nathan HauritzAustralia registered their fourth consecutive three-Test series whitewash against Pakistan on Monday, when the hosts dismissed the visitors for 206, giving them a massive 231-run victory.

In the process Australia equalled Sri Lanka's record of most consecuitive Test victories against any opponent.

Nathan Hauritz and Peter Siddle were the chief destroyer for Austrlia as the duo picked up three wickets apeice. The off-spinner's efforts, including a wicket with his first ball of the final day.

Hauritz finished with six wickets for the match and 18 for the series at a fine average of 23.

For Pakistan, Khuram Manzoor (77) and Mohammad Aamer (30) delayed the inevitable.  Chasing an improbable 438 for a win, Manzoor battled for almost six hours as Pakistan could only add 65-runs to their overnight score in the morning session, losing Shoaib Malik (19) and wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed (5).

Siddle bowled the morning session with good pace, removing Malik in the 11th ball of the day. Hauritz then dismissed Sarfraz with his first ball of the day after the Pakistan batsman played for some turn and edged onto the glove of Brad Haddin, presenting Clarke with a lucky juggled catch off his boot.

Umer Gul (0) and Mohammad Asif (0) couldn't last more than seven balls. Siddle completed the formalities as he cleaned up Danish Kaneria as Australia romped to a 3-0 victory.
