Gambhir stays put at No 1, Sehwag slips in Test rankings

India [ Images ] opener Gautam Gambhir [ Images ] had his numero uno status intact while team-mate Virender Sehwag [ Images ] slipped a place to sixth in the latest ICC [ Images ] ranking for the Test batsmen.

Australia's [ Images ] vice-captain Michael Clarke [ Images ], who hammered a brilliant 166 in the first innings of the third Test against Pakistan at Hobart, jumped six places to replace Sehwag in the fifth position.

Senior India batsman Rahul Dravid [ Images ] dropped two places to 14th position with Sachin Tendulkar [ Images ] following him.

VVS Laxman [ Images ] remained at 17.

In the bowlers ranking list, off-spinner Harbhajan Singh [ Images ] held on to his sixth spot. The other Indian bowler in the top-20 list is Zaheer Khan [ Images ] (12).
