Left-arm pacer Mitchell Johnson on Tuesday returned to the 13-member Australian squad while Shane Watson and Doug Bollinger were rested for the last two One-Day Internationals against Pakistan in Perth.
Johnson returns to the team after being rested for the first three ODIs against Pakistan while Ryan Harris, who picked up five wickets in the third match in Adelaide, retained his place in the squad.
"The NSP has taken the opportunity to manage the workload of Shane Watson and Doug Bollinger who will return home and not be considered for selection in the last two games against Pakistan," Cricket Australia's National Selection Panel chairman Andrew Hilditch said in a statement.
"Ryan Harris will remain with the squad of 13 after an impressive performance in Adelaide while Mitchell Johnson will also return after having his workload managed for the first three games of this series," he said.
Even though the selectors have retained Peter Siddle, who is recuperating from a back injury, in the squad, the pacer's participation in the fourth match on Friday is doubtful.
"Peter Siddle's back soreness continues to improve and we will assess him at training on Thursday before a decision is made regarding his availability for Friday's match in Perth," Australian physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said.
The fifth and final ODI will be held on Sunday in Perth. Australia had already pocketed the five-match series 3-0.
