The Indian cricket team's troubles did not end with its ouster from the Twenty20 World Cup. Reports say some of the players were involved in a pub brawl in Gros Islet, St Lucia, even though Yuvraj Singh dismissed the claim.
According to the reports, six Indian players went to a local pub, Tequila Joe's, on Wednesday night, where fans started taunting and abusing them for their failure to reach the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.
Pacer Ashish Nehra and Zaheer Khan apparently lost their cool and got into a confrontation with the fans and Yuvraj had to intervene to calm down his team-mates, the reports claimed.
Yuvraj, however, denied the reports.
"There was no fight, not even an argument," he wrote on his Twitter page, asking the media not to "make up stories".
Harbhajan Singh, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina were also present at the pub, the reports added.
The Indian team, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, could not win a single Super Eight stage match and crashed out after losing to Sri Lanka, leaving legions of their fans disappointed.
